How it felt being a 1D fan club president candidate.

HELLOOO EVERYBODYYY. MISSING ME?? haha okay prolly not. Omg it has been ages since I last wrote. I really really really love to write but I normally write in my diary cause I just cant be arsed. what to dooo. I'm a lazy git aha :p
So anyway, I was looking through my Facebook profile. I was scrolling down from the year 2013 up to last year and I saw many posts about 1D. Therefore, I'm gonna talk about them and my experience throughout the years. Well, if you dislike or hate them, you're gladly excused from my blog :-)

Basically, most of my friends know that I went to their concert in January'12. Soon after that, Sony Malaysia organised a competition on becoming the president of 1D Malaysia fan club. I freaked out real bad when I found out. I was screaming to my sisters and they got really annoyed ahaha (what to do, they still love me anyway). I had to post a video of why I should become the president of the fan club and the video should be in less than a minute. You know what touched my heart the most? My family and friends who supported me all the way back then. Like if you think back, it's not like I'm running a campaign to be the student council president or something. It's just something that (maybe some people) would define it as absurd.

To my surprise, my video was chosen as the top 5. I WAS TOTALLY OVER THE MOON OK. My heart was beating so fast when Sony started to announce the results of the top 5. I still remembered that Khidmah was the first one to be announced as the top 5. And I thought, ah maybe they thought that she had the best video so thats why she was announced first. It was kinda funny cause there were comments like "WHY ISNT NUREEN CHOSEN" "NUREEN PLEASE" from people that I don't know when Sony posted "who's the next top 5". It totally made my day.

Being one of the top 5 excites me as I was able to know how it feels to be famous. hahaha not saying that I am but I started to get many friend requests on Facebook and they posted on my wall saying nice things. Not only that, I also got a lot of nice tweets from Malaysian Directioners. It was a really nice feeling. Well, here are some of the nice things that were said to me on Facebook by people that I didn't know.

And here are some of the tweets I received on twitter.

But yea, life is not as easy as it seems. I got a lot of hates too. If you're reading this then I'm sorry but I'm just writing it here. At one point, I really hated Nawal (I'm sorry girl, I don't hate you now) cause some of her supporters were bashing me. I'm like, what did I do? I don't even know them in real life and they were hating on me. I was not used to getting hates. I was really down at that time. You can ask any of my family members or my close friends. But that didn't last long. I finally gained my senses and stood back up. You can see it here, some of the comments.

< This was one of the most harsh comments.

< and this dude hated me so much. no idea why.

When I looked back at my video, most of the hatred came cause of my accent. Honestly, the only part you can actually hear me having an accent in that video was when I said "one direction" and it just came out from my mouth naturally. I didn't even realise I was talking in that way. But yeah, I faced this accent problem since I was in school. People at school kept mocking the way I talk just cause I don't speak the 'normal' Malaysian English accent (I went to a normal public government school). It's really annoying. I cant't just change the way I speak can I?

I'm not trying to clarify anything here aha. Cause back then when things happened, I kinda swallowed everything that were said to me and tried my best to ignore everything though it hurts so much deep inside. So now, I just wanna express how I felt even though it's a bit too late lool. Yea anyway, when people said that it's not fair if I become the president just cause I've seen them live. What's the logic seriously? (no hate to you nimi if you read this cause we're practically friends now). People can say that "yea of course that girl can watch 1D live in England, she has the money and all." It wasn't easy to convince my parents either cause the tickets are so expensive and all. I am a fan too and I believe that I deserve the same chance as others to meet them. Oh well, enough of my rants already haha it must be boring to read all that.

I didn't become the president. Khidmah won. I cried so bad after I got off the stage hahaha omg so embarrassing to think back. I cried cause I was a bit disappointed cause the amount of hard work that I put to be the president was just massive. But yeah, I met new friends over the experience. I met Atiqah and she's like my best pal now haha and I'm friends with the other candidates such as Nadiah and Nawal. We still keep in touch till now. I actually bumped into Nadiah in Liverpool last December. What a coincidence! Not only that, I watched This is Us the other day with Nawal.

And here are some pictures throughout the process :-)

Oh my god. This is like the longest post that I've ever written. It's not like people will actually read everything haha. Anyway, it was a really fun experience. I had ups and downs but it's all worth it. That's all for today I think. It's nearly 4 am and I'm still awake cause I'm writing this. Mummy would kill me. ciaaaaaoooooo and nights!
