ON TOP OF THE WORLD

HELLO Y'ALL!

I'm back again writing hehe. I am actually back in Malaysia now and it has been really good. Last year, I came back for only 2 weeks-ish so I didn't get to meet most of my friends so I'm making up for that right now.

Anyway, I mentioned in my previous entry that I went to few countries for my summer trip. I went to Austria (Salzburg & Vienna), Greece (Athens & Santorini) and Hungary (Budapest). So here goes some pictures. I'm not gonna go into specific details about it cause I'm currently editing a video about it so yeaah. This post is going to focus on my outfits, not the trip mind you hehe.

My trip started in London. We were there to watch the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play. It's my first time watching a play in the UK and can I just say that it's soooooo good?!! They made magic looked real!! If you're ever gonna be in London soon, try your best to get tickets for the play!! I heard they have sold out but they kept releasing more tickets so don't give up!! It's worth every penny spent I swear!

So, here's the outfit of me in Austria. This place is like a half an hour drive from Salzburg and a 3 hours drive from Vienna. This is a must place visit if you're ever in Austria. It's breathtaking beyond words! Unlucky me, cause when we were there, eventho it was supposed to be summer, it was slightly cold?? It was like 8 degrees. I paired my lace tops with my skater skirt. I love skater skirts!! It's so comfortable and it just matches with everything. If you don't already know, I'm obsessed with everything lace related haha. It looks classy and elegant to me. And to top it all off, I put on my new MCM bag. I had my eyes on this particular (bag) but my sister said that it's too flashy. The blue one that I bought had the MCM printed all over it as well but it was very subtle. I was very happy with it still. It's becoming my favourite now haha.

Below are my pictures in Budapest, Hungary. I felt like we didn't have enough time there. I need to visit again soon! I loved it there, I felt safe and it was beautiful too! And if you're ever there, I'd recommend trying out New York Cafe. Apparently it's the most beautiful cafe in the world. Can't argue there cause it was really pretty. Food's alright I guess but price-wise for me, for a beautiful place like that, is considered cheap. So you might wanna check that out ;) AND BEFORE I FORGET, KEBAB AND A DRINK COST ONLY £1.60 IN BUDAPEST. WTF RIGHT?!!

If you wanna start getting into luxury brands and wanting to own your first luxury bag, I'd recommend getting this Louis Vuitton pochette accessoires. I have had mistakes in purchasing my bags before. By mistakes I mean like not getting my money back or even half of it if I decide to sell them. Which is why, from now on I would only stick to Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Christian Dior unless if I really like them. Shopping is not always about investment but for a student like me who always change her mind, it's good to own goods from brands that have high resell value. Ok, back to the Pochette, the price is not too expensive and eventho it looks small, it can fit loads of essentials in there when you don't need to carry lots of stuff. It has recently become my favourite and I've been wearing it everyday. I don't really have to worry about the wear and tear of this bag because it's very durable. MAJOR LOVE. It comes only with a short strap, so if you want to have it as a crossbody bag, y'all need to buy the strap (here). I just used my Burberry strap.

Btw something that y'all need to know. I almost got robbed in freaking Athens :( I was like kinda traumatised cause I was alone in the metro. Not alone but without my mum and sisters. It kinda made me an easy target I felt. They freaking opened my backpack TWICE oh my god. They didn't manage to steal anything thank god cause I put lots of food and drink on top of the bag and important stuff at the bottom. So guys, always be careful when you're on holiday. Always keep an eye on your stuff.

Well, I'm back now!

A bit of update of my life if you're interested... haha.
I'm on my summer break right now weeeheeey. It has been a month actually. But I was so busy during those times that I didn't get to actually fully rest.

Anywaaaay, I just got back from my summer holiday! Back in the UK now :-)
I love going on hols but there's no where like home which is Malaysia and the UK for now. It's just sooo good to be back. I went to Austria (Salzburg & Vienna), Greece (Athens & Santorini) & Hungary (Budapest). I'll blog about it later when I feel like it hehe.

For this post, I will list down my favourite hotels in London. I love London and I'm always there. Unfortunately, I do not have a house in London, so I had to stay at hotels.

Note: I took pictures of the hotel for fun, which explains the bad quality of some of the photos. I didn't expect to be writing a blog about them or even post a picture of them. So, mind me yeah :) My pictures definitely won't do these hotels justice, but I'll link the hotel website so you could see better pictures of them.


2) DoubleTree by Hilton Tower of London
This hotel was another fav of mine. But I just checked their website, and they have refurbished the suites?? We stayed here in their suite last time and the new pictures of the suite was not the same as the one we stayed in. Shame. I liked it a lot as it was so spacious and it had Mac mini and also an iMac. The iMac was for the bedroom and the Mac mini was for the living room. It also had a really nice sound system. We could just put the music on loudly as the room was soundproofed. Also, this hotel was close to the tower bridge. I remembered us walking there at night just to have a look at the tower bridge at night. It was just like a 5 minutes walk or so.


3) Hilton London Metropole
This hotel is located at Edgware Road. If you're not familiar with London, Edgware Road is like super close to Oxford Street which screams SHOOOPPPINGGG. We actually stayed here during christmas and boxing day because we wanted to shop and we wanted to stay somewhere close to Oxford Street. At this point, I was a Selfridges person over Harrods. So, it made more sense to stay somwhere close to Oxford Street. However, this hotel is like at the end of Edgware Road so I wouldn't say that it's really close to Oxford Street. By car, yes but if you were to walk like us, it was quite a walk with all those shopping bags. I'm not complaining tho as I was fine with walking but if this might bother you, then it's something for you to consider about. We stayed in their King Suite it was amaaazing.


4) Hilton London Canary Wharf
We stayed here when we were in London to watch One Direction's Take Me Home tour. I told dad that I wanted to stay somewhere that's close to the venue which was the o2 so we decided to stay here. We stayed at their Executive Suite and I have to say that their executive lounge is the best lounge that I've ever been to. Great fooood and ambience. We loved it so much. The suite was like an open large studio but there's sort of like a wall separating the bedroom and the living room. There were 2 TV's. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. ANDD can I just say that they had like the biggest King bed that I've ever slept on haha. It honestly could fit like 4 people sleeping on it. It's close to the O2 arena which is good if you're watching a gig.


5) Royal Garden Hotel
This hotel is located at Kensington High Street. Again, SHOOOPPINGG. hahaha. It's close to Harrods, which is a good thing. We've stayed at two different rooms here. The queen room and the garden room. I loved the garden room. It had an amazing view of Kensington High Street. However, I hated the queen room. It's sooo small and I felt like I was suffocating. Mind you that this is a 5* hotel and that room costs like £300 per night. For a room that small, it's not worth the money at all. You could stay in a twin room at Hilton for 2 nights for that price. But, the garden room was nice and spacious.


6) Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London
If you've got roughly £300  to splurge on a hotel per night during summer then this hotel is worth splurging for. It is SUPER CLOSE to Big Ben, the House of Parliament and the London Eye. You can even see Big Ben from the hotel itself. There's like a place at the lobby with seats for you to just sit and chill and just admire the view. Amazing view really. When we were there, we walked to Big Ben during midnight because why not hahaha. It's not everyday that you could just walk to Big Ben. The room's alright. It's pretty much the same as other top hotels I reckon.

7) Threadneedles Autograph Collection by Marriott, A Marriott Luxury & Lifestyle Hotel
Another beautiful hotel. Marriott has this Autograph Collection where a particular hotel has its unique feature. This particular hotel features a stained glass dome dating back to 1856. It looked really nice in real life. I loved this hotel because it didn't have many people when I was there and it was such a quite place. And....... there's burger & lobster opposite of this hotel hahaha.


8) Park Plaza Hotel Victoria
Nothing much about this hotel but the location actually haha. It's close to Victoria Train station / underground. Room's alright. Pretty much the same as other hotels.

I'd leave that to my top 8 fav hotels then haha. It'd be such a long list to list all the hotels that I've stayed in London.

Worst hotel?
Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5
For a Thistle hotel, you'd expect so much better. The building itself looked old. The lobby and restaurant were so cold. They for sure didn't put any heater on and it was during winter!! It got too cold for us in our room and the only heating they had was from the air conditioning. We asked if they had any portable heaters but they didn't have any. Shame. We would never stay here again.

My dream hotels that I would like to stay in the future?
1) Hilton London on Park Lane
2) The Waldorf Hilton
3) Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard

I'm starting to write more frequently nowadays and I'm quite happy about that. Mostly because, there are actually people who read what I wrote haha. I'm on my easter break right now which I'm soo relieved about cause uni just stresses me so much recently. But I still gotta study as finals are straight after this break ends sigh.

Anyway, I went to London last Monday. I was really excited as if you guys don't already know, it is my fav city in the world haha. I ate waaayyy too much for my liking when I was there. I honestly felt that I gained few kgs loool. From Korean food to burgers and chips to Malaysian food to sushi. Damn gurl. Well, the main purpose of this trip was to pick my mummy up at Heathrow. She's here to visit us. I feel so bad for saying this but hahaha omg since she came here, our house has been soo clean. She's always cleaning. Not too bad huh :p

I went to see my friends as well in London. Haven't seen them in ages! It was really good spending time with them. And........last but not least... I shopped... What's new Nureen? Well to be fair, I've always wanted a card holder and this new card holder that I just bought is just soooo pretty.

It was torn between these three at first... Well you have a look and guess which one did I opt for?

I was always (well I think I am) like a private sort of person. You lot maybe think differently I don't know haha. But, I don't really update every part of my life on social medias. Maybe I do, but I don't realise it? Idk. But yeah.. Well, if you don't know me well enough then this post might just let you get to know me better.

Let's start then....

Okay so I'm Nureen and I'm from Kuala Lumpur. I don't like to disclose my age so let's just skip that part but do know that I'm still fairly young. I went to a normal primary school and went to a boarding school for my secondary school. I was in the school band where my school represented the state and
even Malaysia at international levels. We were involved in both orchestra and marching. I wouldn't
say that secondary school was the best moment of my life as I did want to leave the school most of the time but parents did not allow me.... I was a bit naughty at school so I was fairly familiar with being called and being lectured by teachers. Overall, I met so many amazing people during my high school and they're the only reason that I miss high school. Would I go back to relieve high school if there was a time machine? No.

Well, some people always thought that I was this spoilt brat. Not saying that it is entirely wrong but I worked my way through life. I did get 5A's for upsr and 8A's for pmr and sadly I only managed to get 5A+ 1A and 1A- for my spm (curse you physics and biology!). I moved to England at the age of 19.

I'm aware that I would not be in England if it was not cause of my father. I hate seeing when people brag about them being independent and shit. Guess what? Good for you. Right now, I don't even know if I'll be as successful as my father. It's just impossible for me to reach that level on my own. Yes, I'm not smart enough to get a scholarship etc but what I'm trying to say is I didn't get everything being spoon fed to me. I worked for it. Do you think my dad would send me here if I didn't get into the top 10 unis in the UK? No. So please. Stop with the labelling.

I speak two languages almost fluently. Malay and English. It's funny how like my international friends always thought that English was my first language. Nopeee. Here's the thing. I think it's a shame if we as Malaysians don't know how to speak our own language but I don't diss those speaking English as their first language. I don't feel comfortable when I write in Malay for my blog or my instagram post or my twitter for some sort of reason that I don't know. That's just me. And I speak in English to most of my friends. But let's get this clear. I speak Malay fluently. A+ in Malay for Spm helloo~ hahaha.

Got sick of questions like that honestly but I didn't shove it to their faces. You can't simply judge me by what you see on social medias.

What I don't show people is when I slept at 10am in the morning cause me being the queen of procrastination, I did my work last minute as usual. Or when I stayed in the library for more than 12 hours. Here's the thing, I don't like to show these sides of me to people. Get over it. I don't show people what I do on a daily basis on Instagram. Maybe you'll see more of my life if you follow me on snapchat but that's about it really.

I love cats. A lot.

I hate babies & children. Don't find them cute at all nope.

I love Liverpool FC. With all my heart. And..... of course. I hate Manchester United. That goes without saying... I laugh and I cry because of this damn football club. Gives me so much emotion. Anyway, I don't watch football to gain boys' attention. Fuck that. I'm not gonna do something like that just to impress boys.

My friends always thought that me being a massive one direction fan and being a Liverpool fan at the same time is a weird combination. Lol. Is it really that weird? Haha I don't know....

I used to watch a lot of movies back then. I'd go to the cinema and watch the new released movies. But people change I guess. And so do I. I don't watch lots of movies anymore. You can honestly name 10 movies and I probably haven't watched any of them. Another thing that has changed is my love towards chocolates and sweet stuffs. I just don't fancy them anymore. I honestly don't know



why.... And another significant change in myself is that I don't eat using my hands anymore. Fork and spoon for me nowadays. I feel weird to use my hands now and I felt weird whenever I see people using hands... Idk what's wrong with me.....

I don't know what else to write about myself haha. It feels odd talking bout yourself. I'll just end this with short short infos bout me then.

Hello!

My final exam timetable was just released today. Time passes by so quickly. It's surreal. Seems like it was only yesterday that I was 19 and I came to London with my dad and took the train to Lancaster. Seems like it was yesterday when I had my freshers week. It's just mad to think about all this.

Anyway, CONFESSION time ahahaha. I actually can't believe that this happened to me. Okay here goes the story. I don't really listen to korean music or what people call it as kpop. I've never dissed those who love them though. But I do watch korean dramas when I'm bored ahaha. I think the first drama that I watched was Winter Sonata? This was waaayy back in 2002? And the second drama that I watched was Full House. It was my fav drama ever. The casts, the plot, the humour, the location of the film. Everything was put nicely into a drama. But, I still don't listen to korean music.

However, recently, I have discovered BIG BANG. hahahaha oh my god I can't believe this but I actually really really really love their music? It's unreal that the songs that I've been playing everyday right now are big bang's songs..... And my favourite member would be G-Dragon. He's puurr-fect. I don't even know why I like him but he just has this aura that no one has? He makes his own songs, he produces them and he's the leader. And he's sort of like a badass and has a really nice fashion sense as well. Right now, I'm really inspired by him in terms of fashion haha. There's this one video that I watched where he wore this really nice black skinny scarf and I went to buy it as well haha. Let's see how I pull that off later, I'll post a picture I promise. He really is my fashion inspiration right now. Last year, he had a collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti on making shoes, and therefore now GZ has been one of my fav brands for shoes. Btw here's the video that I was talking about. GD is the one with the black blazer and red hair.
I've known big bang for quite some time actually, but I've never really fancied them back then. I honestly was one of those people who was like "honestly what's the big fuss over Big Bang?" I get it now guys. I totally do. I've only recently liked them because of their new music. I wouldn't call myself obsessed because I don't think I'll ever like any artists as much as One Direction. I don't know if this is just a phase for me and it'll go away soon or what but I really wanna see them live at least once in my life. I've been watching so many old videos of them nowadays (especially GD).


How can someone looks SO HOT while smoking and drinking? It's beyond me! Okay honestly, I better stop now. Enough of it now heh.
